Centra Credit Union gives back to the Communities we serve through the Centra Foundation. Founded in 2012, the Centra Foundation is the charitable arm of Centra and seeks to further our vision of creating value for our Members, Team Members, and Communities we serve through charitable giving. We greatly value the impact we have in our community and strive to ensure our support is fair, equitable, and accessible to individuals and organizations.

Centra Foundation Programs

The Foundation supports the Communities we serve through a variety of programs focused on our impact areas, which include financial empowerment, scholarships and career development, social responsibility, and emergent community needs.

Holiday Giving

It’s no surprise that we love giving back, and what better time to do that than during the holiday season? Each year, the Foundation collects monetary donations that go directly to local non-profit organizations to provide gifts to children and families in need during the holidays.

Scholarships

Scholarships

The Centra Foundation places a high value on education and the importance of individuals pursuing higher education opportunities. That’s why Centra offers scholarships for graduating high school seniors and adult students over the age of 22 who plan to attend a two- or four-year college, university, or technical/trade school.

Team Member Nominated Donations

As a Credit Union of People Helping People, we value the voices of our Team Members. Each year, our Team Members have the opportunity to nominate local non-profits that are important to them. Selected organizations receive $2,500 grants to further their mission to make our Communities a better place to live, work, and play.

Teaming Up with Teachers

The teachers in our Communities play a pivotal role in providing quality education to our youth. To show our appreciation, every year, Centra awards a number of teachers with monetary donations to support their classrooms.

United Way

United Way agencies are a vital part of the Communities we serve, connecting individuals with valuable resources. That’s why Centra supports the United Way agencies throughout our footprint with our annual United Way Workplace Campaign. Our Team Members also support these agencies with volunteerism centered around Day of Caring and Day of Service.

Pay It Forward

2024 was another successful year for Centra, and we have our Members to thank! That success resulted in a Member Loyalty Bonus as well as an additional $166,000 for the Centra Foundation to give back to our Communities. When you bank with Centra, especially when we’re your primary financial institution, you directly support your community. Thanks to our 2024 success, Pay It Forward will be one piece of our 2025 giveback.
