Teaming Up with Teachers

Congratulations 2024 Teaming Up with Teachers winners!

As a surprise, all teachers who submitted a valid entry into this year’s Teaming Up with Teachers received a $50 Amazon gift card!

Each year, we team up with teachers in our local communities to show our support for the quality education they provide for our youth! For 2024, we switched things up and awarded eight teachers with a $250 shopping spree from their Amazon wish list!

Temberley Rinker – Columbus East High School

I teach a life skills class for students in grades 9-12. Students in this class attend a combination of special education and general education classes throughout their day. My students need extra support to be successful in their education. These supplies would help me with some of the supplies that we use every day in our class. I typically spend $500-$700 a year on supplies and projects for my classroom.

Hannah Moore – CSA Lincoln

My students love when we do a classroom transformation! It is a lot of work and money to create an engaging transformation, but it is so worth it when the kids are so excited to learn. I would love to be able to add another classroom transformation for my 54 fourth graders. With the money, I would be able to purchase the decorations and supplies needed to create another fun and engaging transformation next school year!

Sarah Temple – West Washington Elementary School

I teach students with learning disabilities, students with health impairments (such as ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities in a resource room. The money will be used for resources for these students in order to be successful in school. For example, my class is in need of new noise-cancelling headphones. This helps eliminate distractive noises to help them focus. We are always in need of pencils, highlighters, and paper like all teachers.

Emma Morrison – South Decatur Elementary

I taught sixth grade last year and am moving to second grade! This $250 would help get supplies and games for the kids. I will have close to 30 students this coming year and am in need of organization tools to help our classroom function as best as possible. These kids are the reason why I do my job, and I would appreciate more than you know help with purchasing materials to make school and learning as much fun as possible!

Jennifer Ryshavy – WD Richards Elementary

In August, it will be my 13th year teaching but my second year at WD Richards. When moving to a new school, you have to leave a lot of teaching materials behind. Because of this, I did a lot of borrowing from my teammates this past year! I would use the money to help purchase hands-on materials for math instruction and reading material for my small groups. My class this year was amazing, and I can’t wait to meet my new students in just a few short months.

Courtney Noble – Austin Elementary School

The $250 would help my classroom because I would be able to supply my students with more hands-on learning resources, which would help get them more engaged. I would use the money to get more learning manipulatives for my reading and math stations.

Gary Solomon – Jeffersonville High School

The photo that is presented is my class installing planter boxes that they made for the severe program at Jeff High. This allows our truly special students to have a place to learn and work hands on while learning. My class has no budget, and this money would help buy materials in turn to help others. Screws, nails, and other consumables for projects.

Kristin Parker – Coulston Elementary

I teach in a title one school. I have been an educator for 31 years and have seen how education has evolved! If I win the money, I would use it to buy healthy snacks and bottled water for my students. When students are hungry and or thirsty, it is often hard to concentrate and get their work completed! Having snacks and water helps my students get regulated and focused.
