Board of Directors

James D. Bickel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Columbus Regional Health. He currently has administrative responsibilities across Columbus Regional Health including Columbus Regional Hospital, its flagship facility, and Columbus Regional Health System Services/Southeastern Indiana Medical Holdings, Inc. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a Master of Business Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Jim has been serving on the Centra Credit Union Board since 2015 and as the Board Chair since 2021. Jim is also currently serving on the boards for the following organizations: NexusPark Community Development Corporation, Substance Abuse Public Funding, Columbus Regional Health Foundation, InSPIRE Health Partners, Community Education Coalition, Healthy Communities, SIHO, and Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.


Gina Pleak, Ph.D. has been an educator for 29 years. Her career began as a teacher at Johnson Elementary with Scott County School District 2 for 11 years, and she served as the principal at Waldron Elementary with Shelby Eastern Schools for sev-en years. Gina joined Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) in 2013, where she was a principal for four years at Mt. Healthy Elementary and Clifty Creek Elementary before becoming the Director of Title Services for four years. Gina is in her third year as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources with BCSC. Gina received her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Administrator Certification from Indiana University Southeast. In 2017, Gina attained her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University. Gina and her husband Jeff reside in Bartholomew County and have two sons, Jared (25) and Jalen (22). She has been a Member of Centra Credit Union for more than 30 years.


Donald Jackson is the Vice President of Treasury and Tax for Cummins Inc. and has more than 30 years of experience as a global financial risk management professional. Prior to joining Cummins, Donald spent 17 years with Hewlett-Packard in various treasury and finance roles. He has a Master of Business Administration from Rice University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Spanish from Texas Christian University. Donald currently resides in Carmel, Indiana with his wife and four children. In addition to serving on the board for Centra Credit Union since 2015, Donald recently served on the boards of the Columbus Express Soccer Club and Su Casa Columbus, a Latino outreach organization.


Mary E. Stroh is an attorney with Sharpnack Bigley Stroh & Washburn and joined the practice in 2010. Prior to joining the firm, Mary received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from DePauw University, and her Juris Doctor (JD) from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, cum laude. Mary has served on the Centra Board of Directors since 2013 and is also an active volunteer for the Foundation for Youth, Children Inc., Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center, Ivy Tech Community College, Leadership Bartholomew County, and coaching with Columbus Express Soccer Club.


Supervisory Committee

Jody Heazlitt is the President and Chief Executive Officer of New Hope Services, Inc. where she has served in a variety of roles since 2004. Jody has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Ball State University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville. Jody has served on the Centra Supervisory Committee since 2020 and has also served on the Board of Directors of New Albany/Floyd County Habitat for Humanity and Strategic Indiana Provider Network.


Shannon Jenkins is a partner with Cerity Partners where she leads the firm’s Business Advisory Service team. She is both a practicing CPA and CFP®. Prior to joining Cerity Partners, she was a chief financial officer in the nonprofit sector and worked in public accounting with MCM, CPAs. She is involved with several large nonprofits in southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky, through various boards and finance committees. Shannon is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration. She currently resides in Borden, Indiana. She and her husband Sean have three grown children, Maddison (27), Brady (26), and Sydney (22). Shannon enjoys traveling and doing projects around their property.


Nominations for the Board of Directors may also be made through petition. The petition must contain signatures and account numbers of a minimum of 5% of the total Membership. As of December 31, 2023, Centra has 156,955 Members. Valid petitions must be filed with the Secretary of the Board of Directors prior to March 14, 2024. Written statements of qualifications, biographical information, and willingness to serve if elected must accompany all petitions. The Annual Meeting will be held at Centra Corporate Headquarters, 3801 Tupelo Drive in Columbus, IN, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. There will be an option to attend virtually.
