New verification process coming soon for Shared Branch Members

Centra Credit Union understands it’s crucial to help protect you from potential fraud. Coming May 1, 2025, the CO-OP Shared Branch Network is introducing a new ID proofing measure for in-person visits to Shared Branch locations for all credit union Members who use the Shared Branch Network. This new fraud prevention measure helps protect your account from unauthorized access.

If you visit a CO-OP Shared Branch location outside of the state in which you live, a teller can now identify and authenticate you through a system called IDCheck. This additional layer of authentication will be used for loan payments, cashier’s checks, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and account inquiries.

How IDCheck works:

  1. Scan the QR code located in a branch or visit verify.coop.org.
  2. Select Centra’s name from the drop-down list.
  3. Enter your Member number and the last four digits of your Social Security number or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN).
  4. Upload a photo of your government-issued ID. Note: Military IDs are not an accepted form of identification for IDCheck.
  5. Take a selfie. Tip: Save your validation for an even quicker experience next time!
  6. Show your one-time passcode to the teller (passcode is valid for 20 minutes).
