Volunteerism

As a credit union, we live by the credit union mantra of People Helping People, which is why giving back to our Communities is so important to us. Every year, we continue to see growth in our volunteer efforts. In 2024, more than 184 Team Members volunteered for approximately 3,100 hours in a personal and/or professional capacity. These efforts supported more than 88 local non-profit organizations.

Our Team Members also continue to volunteer their time serving on community boards, in committee meetings, and with many other volunteer opportunities that positively impact our Communities.

Aspiring to create value for our Communities

As an organization, we’ve set in place aspirational goals to ensure that we’re striving each and every day to create value for our Members, fellow Team Members, and Communities we serve. One of those aspirations is community impact through monetary and volunteer contributions.

Family & community time for Team Members

At Centra, we value both work-life balance and getting involved in our Communities, so we strive to support this by providing our Team Members with family & community time annually. Team Members are encouraged to use these hours to spend time with loved ones or to get involved in a community Centra serves.

New hire orientation projects

Because Centra is deeply rooted in giving back to our Communities, we implemented a service project to our new hire onboarding process in 2024. These projects provide new Team Members with a clear view of Centra’s vision by giving them the opportunity to give back to an organization Centra serves within their first week. In 2024, 103 new Team Members served more than 51 hours collectively on service projects!
