2026 Board and Supervisory Committee Nominees
Each year, according to our bylaws, a Nominating Committee presents a slate of candidates to fill the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. The following individuals have been nominated to serve.
Board of Directors
Joseph L. Brown is a retired partner with Rodefer Moss where he practiced in their New Albany, Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky offices, and was the Director of Audit for the firm’s Indiana and Kentucky offices. Joe is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a B.S. in accounting. Joe has served on the Centra Credit Union Board of Directors for the past six years and currently serves on the Salvation Army Advisory Board. Joe previously served on the Centra Credit Union Supervisory Committee and the New Albany Floyd County School Board.
Christopher “Chip” Orben retired from Duke Energy after a distinguished 36-year career as Government and Community Relations Manager. He’s the Past President of the Indiana Economic Development Association and served on economic development boards in five Indiana counties. Chip also has served a three-year term on the Centra Board of Directors and previously served six years on the Supervisory Committee, including three years as Chair. He remains active in the Columbus community through his work on the Columbus Sports Advisory Council, the Riley Children’s Hospital Regional Committee, and as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church. Chip holds a degree in business analysis from Indiana University Bloomington and is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.
Kevina Schumaker has been a partner at Chauncey Hill Partnership LLC for more than 38 years working in the individual and family services industry. Kevina currently resides in Columbus, Indiana with husband, Hutch Schumaker. Kevina has served on the Centra Credit Union Board for the past six years, is currently serving on the board of directors for The Commons, Turning Point Domestic Violence Services and Columbus Regional Health Trustees and is the Chair of the Centra Foundation. Kevina is skilled in negotiation, team building, short sales, construction, and real estate and is a graduate of Southeastern Academy of Travel and Tourism.
Anthony L. Phillips II is Senior Director of Team Experiences and Efficiencies at Pivotal Housing Partners, leading initiatives to enhance operational performance and employee experience. With more than 10 years in affordable housing, analytics, and public service, he specializes in data visualization, utility and revenue optimization, and LIHTC operations. Anthony previously held leadership roles with the State of Indiana, The Annex Group, Kittle Property Group, and KIPP Indy. He taught graduate analytics courses and holds an MBA in Finance and Applied Analytics from the University of Indianapolis and is a Six Sigman Black Belt. Anthony currently serves on the Centra Credit Union Board in an interim capacity, serves on the University of Indianapolis Alumni Board, and is involved with the National Black MBA Association. He lives with his family in Indianapolis.
Supervisory Committee
S. Shawwn Storms is a CPA who holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, and Institute of Internal Auditors. Shawwn helped to form Agresta, Storms & O’Leary, focusing on traditional accounting and consulting services for closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Shawwn has served a three-year term on the Centra Supervisory Committee. He’s a 1991 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in accounting and earned his MBA in 1998 from the University of Indianapolis. Shawwn and his wife, Diana, have three children, Caroline (25), Allison (20), and Evelyn (18), and they reside in Batesville, Indiana. Shawwn enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and attending Indiana University basketball and football games.
Patrick Sabo is an experienced legal and compliance professional with expertise in governance, regulatory oversight, and risk management. He currently serves as Legal Counsel for Parkview Health System, advising on complex payor contracting, compliance, transactional matters, and organizational policy. His previous roles include Assistant General Counsel for SIHO Insurance Services, where he supported litigation management, contract development, and enterprise compliance functions. Patrick holds a J.D. with distinction from the Indiana University School of Law–Indianapolis and a B.A. from DePauw University. He’s served several community and professional organizations, including leadership roles with Sans Souci, Leadership Bartholomew County, United Way, and the Heritage Fund. Patrick currently resides in Columbus, Indiana.
Nominations for the Board of Directors may also be made through petition. The petition must contain signatures and account numbers of a minimum of 5% of the total Membership. As of December 31, 2025, Centra has 183,465 Members. Valid petitions must be filed with the Secretary of the Board of Directors prior to March 19, 2026. Written statements of qualifications, biographical information, and willingness to serve if elected must accompany all petitions. The Annual Meeting will be held at Centra Corporate Headquarters located at 3801 Tupelo Drive, Columbus, IN 47201 and virtually on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 3:00pm.
