Ground Breaking on New Corporate Headquarters Building
Centra officially broke ground for our new Corporate Headquarters Building on the same lot as the current building on Columbus’ west side. We announced our plans for this new, 55,000 square foot building in the summer of 2018. Construction on the new building will be finished in early 2020.
Centra and city officials, such as Mayor Jim Leinhoop, attended and participated in the ceremony.
“A building such as this is a significant, two-fold investment,” Lienhoop said during his speech. “It is not only a commitment of dollars, but a commitment to a community.”
Ratio Design is the architect and Force Construction Co Inc. is the construction management firm selected for the project. Both organizations have worked on many other projects in Columbus and are familiar with the City’s history of design and Architecture.
The building’s exterior will feature Indiana limestone, for our locality and strength, and copper anodized aluminum for focus in the business industry. With our continued growth, we knew that we needed a long-term solution for our Team Members. Next year, Team Members scattered across Columbus in different leased office spaces will all come together in the new building. The building reinforces Centra’s commitment to remaining Columbus’ locally headquartered credit union.
“Centra has a strong history in Columbus. It’s very fitting our new headquarters will remain here in central Indiana where we were founded more than 78 years ago.” said Rick Silvers, Centra President and CEO.
