September 2026: A letter from the President
Dear Centra Members,
As a credit union, Centra is here for our Members through every major financial milestone. What helps us stand apart from other financial institutions is our commitment to being truly Member-centric. Every decision, interaction, and solution is guided by one purpose: creating meaningful, tangible value for our Members.
We take pride in this purpose, and it starts with the simple habit of approaching each day with a positive mindset. When we listen, act quickly, and go the extra mile, we make a lasting difference in a Member’s experience. Those moments bring the mantra of “People Helping People” to life in a powerful way.
I’d like to share two recent examples of Team Members going above and beyond to create meaningful value for our Members. The first highlights the importance of trust and how it helped prevent a significant fraud loss for one of our Members.
Recently, our Team Member Casey noticed unusual activity when a Member requested a large cash withdrawal under circumstances that didn’t match their typical banking behavior. Casey and her team reviewed the situation, discussed potential fraud risks, and provided guidance to the Member. Although the Member initially proceeded with the withdrawal, the team’s persistence and trusted relationship encouraged them to reconsider. They later learned the Member had been instructed to convert the funds into cryptocurrency as part of a scam. Through teamwork, fraud awareness, and a commitment to protecting our Members, the team recovered and secured $25,000, preventing a significant financial loss.
This second success story demonstrates how thoughtful, personalized service helped make homeownership possible for one of our Members.
Maggie, one of our Mortgage Loan Consultants, worked with a prospective Member who faced unexpected challenges securing financing for a new home despite having a strong financial profile. After a thorough review, she identified a lending solution that leveraged available home equity within the transaction, creating a stronger loan structure and more favorable terms. Her personalized approach eliminated additional costs, reduced the cash needed at closing, and made homeownership attainable. With education, expertise, and guidance, Maggie helped the Member move through the process with confidence.
These are just two of countless examples of how our Team Members create value for our Members every day. As a Member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, it’s our responsibility to serve our Members and return value through trusted relationships, personalized service, and community-focused decisions. I’m grateful for our more than 400 dedicated Team Members who bring a positive mindset to work each day and live out Centra’s vision of ‘Creating value for our Members, one another, and the communities we serve’ and call home.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. As we close out the third quarter and enter the final months of the year, we look forward to creating more stories like these and continuing to make a meaningful impact on our Members, prospective Members, and our Communities.
Atentamente,
Brad Davis
